I am an active and outgoing person with a large variety of interests, and I have participated in many different activities both inside and outside school. The valuable experiences I gained in all activities have added great colours to my life!
Among the many activities that I participated, I love ballet and synchronized swimming most. I have started my training in synchronized swimming at the age of nine and have developed a strong passion since then. With the top score I achieved in the competitive audition, I was selected to join the Hong Kong Synchronized Swimming Junior Squad when I just turned ten. I was then selected to join the Hong Kong National Squad in December 2015. I love synchronized swimming, as it is a perfect hybrid of swimming, gymnastics and ballet. Although squad training in the past few years has been intensive and demanding and I have gone through hard times of injuries and pain, I have never thought of giving up my mermaid dream. I enjoy the training, and have cultivated mutual support, team spirit and lasting friendships with my teammates, which I treasure the most.
Synchronized swimming has given me golden opportunities to see the wider world. As a National Squad swimmer, I have represented Hong Kong in about 20 overseas competitions held in different countries including Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Shanghai, Macao, Uzbekistan and Europe. In July 2017, I was really glad to be selected as one of the two synchronized swimmers representing Hong Kong in the FINA World Championships 2017 held in Budapest, Hungary. The World Championships are one of the biggest sports events in the world, attracting about 3,000 elite athletes showcasing their abilities in aquatic sports. It was my first time stepping onto the world stage of synchronized swimming, and I was so excited! The Championships was such an amazing and unforgettable experience for I was given a chance to compete in the same event with the world-class swimmers including the Olympic medalists and to appreciate the highest level of techniques and artistic impressions in the sport. At present, I have devoted myself to another high level of intensive training to strive for representation in the Asian Games 2018 in the coming August.
Growing up in synchronized swimming, I am so grateful for the nurture and support I have got throughout these years. I also feel that it is my responsibility to give back to the society. Besides volunteering to coach young swimmers of the Youth Synchronized Swimming Promotion Scheme 2017-18, I have participated in a number of performances including the duet showcase at the Kowloon Park Swimming Pool for celebrating HKSAR’s 20th Anniversary. I shall continue to try my best in promoting this less-popular sport in Hong Kong, and hope to see more young swimmers trying out synchronized swimming and share my passion for the sport I love so much. Hong Kong synchronized swimmers have never had the chance to compete in the Olympic Games so far. I hope that one day, I or any Hong Kong swimmers can reach this peak.[/vc_column_text][tek_button button_text=”Back” button_style=”tt_primary_button” button_color_scheme=”btn_primary_color” button_hover_state=”” button_icon_bool=”no” button_action=”button-action-link” button_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2F159.89.198.89%2Fyoutharch-web%2Fpast-awardees%2F|||” button_position=”button-center”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[/vc_column_text][tek_button button_text=”返回” button_style=”tt_primary_button” button_color_scheme=”btn_primary_color” button_hover_state=”” button_icon_bool=”no” button_action=”button-action-link” button_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2F159.89.198.89%2Fyoutharch-web%2Fzh-hant%2Fpast-awardees%2F|||” button_position=”button-center”][vc_empty_space][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
